About this opportunity
Point count surveys are the standard method for monitoring bird populations. Volunteers stand at fixed points for a set time and record every bird seen or heard. Data is submitted through eBird and incorporated into regional analyses.
What to expect
- Surveys run early morning (30–90 minutes per point)
- Training session before your first outing covers the protocol
- All ages welcome; great beginner introduction to field ornithology
