How to complete and submit your work

Once you've committed to a task, the project hub at /app/projects/[id] is where you do and record the work. This page explains each part.

1. Read the task instructions first

The left panel shows the full task instructions. Read them before you start. They specify exactly what to do, what to photograph or record, and what to deliver when you submit. The reviewer will judge your work against those same instructions.

2. Checklist

Every task has a checklist with required and optional items.

  • Required items: you must check all of them before the submit button becomes active.
  • Optional items: extras you can complete if your situation allows, but they don't block submission.

Check each item when you have actually completed it. The checklist is visible to the reviewer.

3. Notes

The notes field is a free-text space that autosaves when you click away. Use it to jot down what you found, where you were, unusual conditions, or anything else worth remembering. Notes are visible to the reviewer, so write what would help someone understand your work.

4. Time log

The sidebar shows Start session and Stop session buttons. Only active time is counted, the timer measures your engagement while the tab is open and you're interacting. It pauses automatically when the tab is hidden or you go idle.

  1. Press Start session when you're ready to begin working.
  2. Work through the task: follow the instructions, complete checklist items, take photos if required.
  3. Press Stop session when you take a break or finish.
  4. You can have multiple sessions. Total measured active time accumulates across all of them.

The platform requires at least a minimum floor of active time before submission is enabled. This floor exists so the record reflects genuine work. Idle time and estimates are never credited, only measured active time counts.

5. When the submit button becomes active

The Submit when ready button becomes active only when both of the following are true:

  • All required checklist items are checked.
  • At least the minimum active time has been logged.

6. How to submit

  1. Click Submit when ready. You'll go to the submission form at /app/projects/[id]/submit.
  2. Fill in the category-specific fields: upload photos, enter your findings, or provide whatever the task requires.
  3. Confirm the submission. The status changes from submitted to AI reviewing immediately.

7. AI review and outcome

You'll see a pulsing "AI reviewing…" pill while the system analyzes your submission. You don't need to stay on the page; the status updates automatically. Possible outcomes are:

  • Pending review: your work moves to a human reviewer. This is the normal path.
  • Needs changes: the reviewer or system found an issue. See below.
  • Rejected: the work didn't meet requirements. No hours are credited.

8. If the reviewer requests changes

If your submission status is needs changes, the reviewer's note appears at the top of the project hub. Read it carefully, make the adjustments described, and resubmit using the same submission form. The review cycle continues until the work is approved or rejected.
