Your hours and how to download your CF 888
How hours are credited
Credited hours are your measured active time, capped at the maximum hours ceiling set for that task. The task's time estimate is for planning only, what gets credited is what you actually measured while working.
Hours are only written to the ledger after a reviewer approves your submission. A reviewer can reduce hours for quality but can never credit above your measured time. Rejected or low-effort work earns zero hours.
Where to see your hours
The main dashboard (/app) shows a progress ring with “X of 80 hours” for the current month. The 80-hour figure is the California ABAWD monthly target.
Hours are in one of two states:
- Pending: the submission is awaiting review. These hours do not yet appear on your CF 888.
- Certified: a reviewer approved the submission. The hours have been added to the ledger and will appear on the CF 888.
What the CF 888 is
The CF 888 is California's standard form for verifying volunteer work hours under the SNAP ABAWD requirement. colift generates it for you with your information pre-filled.
The form includes: your legal name, case number, date of birth, address (all from the profile you entered during sign-up), the certified hours for the month, the certifying organization, and a signature from colift's authorized representative.
How to download your CF 888
The form becomes available once at least one hour has been certified for the month. To download it:
- Go to Settings (top-right menu).
- Scroll to the Previous reports section. This section only appears if your account intent is SNAP certification.
- Click Download next to the month you need.
The file is a filled PDF. colift does not submit the form to the state on your behalf. You must upload it yourself to BenefitsCal, California's benefits portal, and file it according to your caseworker's instructions.
If you are in New York, the equivalent form is the Monthly ABAWD Volunteer Participation Record, submitted to ACCESS HRA.
Common questions
Can I download forms from previous months? Yes. The "Previous reports" section lists every month in which you have certified hours.
Why are my hours still pending? Hours stay pending until an organization reviewer approves your submission. Review time varies. You'll see the updated status on your dashboard.
Does the form reflect exactly the time I logged? It reflects your measured active time, possibly reduced by the reviewer for quality, never increased. If your submission was rejected, those hours do not appear.
